This survey is prepared from information collated from the relevant Survey Client Data collected from broker panels who are members of the Client organization, for the major centres in South Africa (Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth). SAPOA Operating Costs Report
This report is based on Data described as operating costs relating to property and the report will provide statistical and trend analysis of: cost to rent ratios etc by major cost escalations category and by region and property type. The report will be in the form of graphs, tables and commentary.
These reports investigate the role and impact of said property sector on the various provincial economies, with applied variables that include its contribution in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment creation, and broadening the tax base of the public sector (tax revenue generation). The report analyses the economic impact of possible delays in property development applications in the various identified municipalities. Property development applications include land use management (LUM) applications (township establishment, rezoning, subdivision, etc.) and building plan applications with the analysis being focused on identifying the prescribed application timeframes, as well as determining the efficiency ratio (portion of the applications finalized within the prescribed timeframes) for the various municipalities. The report also identifies specific challenges inherent to the property development application in mentioned municipalities. This document serves as a concise illustration of the findings inherent to abovementioned research objectives.
Inclusionary Housing Report
SAPOA undertook research on inclusionary housing in the South African context. The purpose of this investigation is to provide context and determine possible solutions that could be incorporated as part of the policy formulation by industry and the public sector.
