SAPOA Recommended/Guideline Tariffs on Commission payable to brokers


Please be advised that members should amend any legal documents, inclusive of but not limited to lease agreements, sales agreements and facilities management agreements etc. to not make any reference to past or existing SAPOA recommended tariffs.

This is due to a ruling by the Competition Commission issued to SAPOA in 2002 to which it regards this to collusive behaviour, and, as such, leads to anti-competitive practice in the industry.

Penalties that could be imposed on the secretariat and members include jail sentences for directors and employees involved and/or fines up to 10% of the company's anual turnover.
