SAPOA 2018 Convention & Property Exhibition Key Programme Highlights
The South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) Annual Convention & Property Exhibition will take place from 19 to 21 June 2018 at the Durban International Convention Centre.
The theme of the 2018 Convention, The Future We Create. Imagine the Possibilities will challenge delegates to think futuristic, allowing them to explore the possibility of multiple futures and new technologies within an innovative and diversified real estate environment.
SAPOA will, once again, select a line-up of thought-provoking local and international stakeholders and decision-makers form the public and private sector to share their expertise and knowledge.
The first day of the Convention will provide an array of networking opportunities in the form of a golf day at Mount Edgecombe Golf Course and a Durban City tour.
The discussion after tea on day 2 will cover the water crisis, which is grippling through parts of the country. The address entitled, Is South Africa becoming a desert? will highlight the issue of climate change and its effects on the way we live.
The property stream on Day 2, Real Estate Moving Forward, will showcase the trends in real estate and how it has moved away from bricks and mortar to the blockchain and brickcoin, and virtual real estate. There will also be an economic presentation, focusing on the South African economy and how muddling through will no long do.
The political narrative on Day 3 entitled We cannot predict the future, but we can invent it promises to be a robust discussion about the South African landscape and the endless possibilities available to all South Africans to invent the ideal political future.
Political analyst, broadcaster, lecturer and writer, Eusebius McKaiser, will host the proceedings as Master of Ceremonies.
According to SAPOA CEO Neil Gopal, the Convention is a premier gathering place for industry leaders. “In the face of further global economic and political uncertainty, the Convention will provide the perfect platform for commercial players to gain knowledge with regards to the role and impact of the commercial property sector. We trust that the many issues raised, discussed and debated – and our well-informed speakers’ views and opinions – will be of great value to delegate’s experience at this event.” he says.
Multi-disciplinary, built-environment consultancy, GladAfrica Group, is the convention’s principal sponsor.
